These 1 mm-thick electrode covers made out of wool felt are moisturized and then layed over the sintered electrode-surface. Then they are fastened with the help of a rubber-O-ring. Not only do the covers protect the electrode surface from mechanical damge, they also provide for an optimal contact to the scalp of the patient due to their saline filling.
