Please read briefly before ordering:
The Home Edition of the eSense Muscle is primarily designed as a complementary device for clients of biofeedback practices already using the Pro Edition. Please take a moment to check whether this edition fits your needs — you will find a comparison table and an explainer video further down this page. If you need raw-data export, oscilloscope or a mobile app (iOS/Android), the Pro Edition is the right choice.
Who is the Home Edition designed for?
The Home Edition is primarily aimed at clients of biofeedback practices who already work with the Pro Edition of their therapist and receive a streamlined device for supplementary home training. In physiotherapy practices it is often loaned to patients for home training.
It is also suitable for private users who want to perform basic muscle-function training, relaxation or basic rehabilitation exercises without a therapeutic context. For purely private use without a therapeutic framework, the Pro Edition is overspecified in most cases — the Home Edition fully covers basic training.

General information about EMG (electromyography) biofeedback training
The eSense Muscle is a cutting-edge device that can measure and train electromyographic biofeedback related to muscle activity. It transmits this data to your computer, smartphone, or tablet via Bluetooth® for real-time monitoring and analysis.
The human musculature plays an essential role in the body, not only for movement but also as a major energy consumer, accounting for approximately 70-80% of our body weight. Muscle contraction is reflected by electrical potential shifts along the fibers of striated muscles, which can be measured through surface electromyography (EMG) at the skin’s surface. This non-invasive method captures electrical activity in the form of summation potentials, resulting in an electromyogram.
Our transverse striated muscles, which are responsible for voluntary movements, are controlled by the somatic nervous system. Every intentional muscle contraction is visible in the electromyogram, making it a valuable tool in both training and rehabilitation settings. The device can track not only voluntary actions but also involuntary reactions, such as stress, emotional tension, or psychophysiological states, providing insight into overall muscle tone.
In recent years, EMG biofeedback has been extensively studied, with systematic reviews demonstrating its efficacy in various therapeutic applications. By using electromyographic biofeedback, individuals can gain greater control over their muscle activity, helping to reduce tension and improve muscle coordination. This makes the eSense EMG device ideal for professionals and individuals alike, offering precise biofeedback and ease of use in both clinical and personal settings.

Frequently Asked Questions about the eSense Muscle Home Edition
Do I need the Pro Edition if I want to export raw data?
Yes. Raw-data recording and raw-data export are exclusive to the Pro Edition. The Home Edition only stores session summaries in the web app, not full measurement raw data. If you need the full data stream for scientific evaluation, therapy documentation or your own analyses, the Pro Edition is the right choice.
Does the mobile app (iOS/Android) also work with the Home Edition?
No. The mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android devices works exclusively with the Pro Edition — activation requires a Pro license code, which is only included with the purchase of a Pro Edition. With the Home Edition you work via the web app esense.live in your browser (desktop, laptop, tablet).
Can I upgrade from Home to Pro later?
Yes, an upgrade is possible at any time. You only pay the price difference between the Home and Pro Edition. Just send a short email to [email protected]; you will receive the Pro license code by email afterwards. Your existing hardware (sensor, electrode cables, felt pads) stays — you only unlock the extended software feature set.
What is NOT included in the Home Edition’s scope of delivery?
Not included: the mobile app (iOS/Android), the oscilloscope with long-term tracking and drawing mode, raw-data recording and export, the contraction-helper tool, the 2-channel mode with the associated 2-channel animations, and the freely selectable band-pass filters (20–300 Hz, 20–950 Hz). All these features are reserved for the Pro Edition.
Is the Home Edition sufficient for my physiotherapy practice?
For the actual therapeutic use in the practice we recommend the Pro Edition — it offers 2 channels, oscilloscope, raw-data documentation and the mobile app, which is required for therapeutic work. However, many practices also use the Home Edition additionally to give patients a streamlined device for supplementary home training.
Which filter options does the Home Edition offer?
The Home Edition is fixed on the preset band-pass filter 100–200 Hz. This filter range is the standard for classic EMG biofeedback in relaxation and muscle-activity awareness training. The alternative filters 20–300 Hz (wide-band EMG) and 20–950 Hz (full spectrum for raw-data analysis) are only selectable in the Pro Edition.
