Who is the eSense Pro Set without SDK for?
You work as a therapist, coach, trainer, researcher or training facilitator with biofeedback and need a complete, practice-ready sensor package for mobile sessions, group classes or online consulting — without having to develop your own app? Then this set is the right choice: all four eSense sensors in one package, combined with premium support, premium web dashboard accounts for your clients and a supervisor account for centralised data review. If you also want to develop your own apps, the same package including the mobile SDK licence is available here as a set with SDK.

Use cases for professional B2B applications
1. Clinical practice and therapy
In psychotherapy and behavioural medicine practice, use the set for stress diagnostics, relaxation training and breathing biofeedback. The web dashboard records your clients’ session histories centrally, exports CSV data for documentation and links sessions for multi-week comparisons.
2. Coaching and mental performance training
Mental coaches in sports, business or performance contexts work with eSense Pulse (HRV) and eSense Skin Response for stress resilience measurement and focus training. The supervisor account lets you handle multiple clients in parallel and adapt training plans based on objective measurement data.
3. Research and studies
Scientific users receive calibrated raw values across all four modalities in a consistent data format — suitable for quantitative stress, sleep, HRV or affect studies. CSV export per session, OSC streaming to MATLAB / Python / EEGLab, browser-based session archive. The eSense Pulse RR intervals follow the Bluetooth® LE standard Heart Rate Service and are therefore compatible with HRV research software such as Kubios HRV Premium.
4. Education and training programmes
Trainers in biofeedback certification programmes run live demonstrations and group classes. Through the web dashboard you can see multiple participants’ measurement curves on one screen as the instructor — also in online settings via screen sharing or hybrid workshops. Premium support helps with curriculum design.
Complete set vs. individual purchase — what you actually save
The pure sensor cost of buying the four eSense devices individually is significantly higher than the set price. On top of that, the set exclusively includes the following:
- 3× premium web dashboard account for 12 months — otherwise licensed separately as a subscription
- 1× supervisor account for 12 months — centralised access to all client sessions, not sold individually
- 60 minutes premium support via video call with our specialists — structured onboarding for your specific use cases
- Compatibility guarantee: all sensors in this set are tuned to each other and validated with the current eSense App / Web App / adapter generation
The set is intentionally configured for professional use with multiple clients and cloud-based session management — and is the fastest entry point if you want to set up not just individual measurements but a structured training and analysis workflow.
Software workflow: from sensor to analysis
The set covers the full data workflow from live measurement and client session through to long-term analysis.
eSense App (iOS and Android)
The free eSense App serves as a local recording and live visualisation solution on smartphone or tablet. It displays real-time curves for all four sensors, contains guided exercises for breathing, EDA relaxation and HRV coherence training, and exports session data as CSV.
eSense Web App and cloud dashboard
Via esense.live you connect the client’s smartphone with the browser on your PC or tablet. The Web App enables real-time streaming of measurement curves to the trainer’s screen — also remotely over the internet. With the premium plan you can archive sessions per client, compare them and analyse them centrally in the supervisor account.
OSC streaming to third-party software
Measurement data can be streamed in real time to third-party applications via Open Sound Control (OSC) — for example BioEra, Pure Data, Max/MSP, TouchDesigner or your own visualisation solutions for research setups or interactive installations.
CSV export and session archive
Each session can be exported as CSV. Via the supervisor account you have access to the full session archive for all linked clients — with timestamps, sensor type and calibrated measurement values.
Smart home and Hue integration
The eSense App contains a direct integration for Philips Hue: lighting scenes respond to the current EDA value or breathing phase and support relaxation exercises with ambient light. Other smart home systems can be integrated via OSC.
Scientific background
The sensors in the set are based on established psychophysiological measurement methods documented in stress and biofeedback research for decades:
- Electrodermal activity (EDA / GSR) — changes in skin conductance driven by eccrine sweat gland activity, controlled by the sympathetic nervous system. An indicator of unconscious activation and stress responses.
- Peripheral skin temperature — an indicator of peripheral vasoconstriction tone. Rising temperature during relaxation is considered a marker of parasympathetic dominance.
- Heart rate variability (HRV) — RR interval variability as a measure of vagal activity. Widely used in stress resilience research, sports and mental performance.
- Breathing amplitude and frequency — breathing biofeedback is used in psychophysiology for self-regulation training and resonance breathing exercises (~6/min).
The eSense sensors deliver calibrated raw values in standardised units (kΩ or µS, °C, BPM/ms, RA) and are therefore suitable for quantitative analysis and studies. An overview of relevant studies is available at mindfield.de. The measurements support training and awareness processes — they do not replace medical diagnosis.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which eSense sensors are included in the complete set?
Skin Response (EDA/GSR), Temperature, Pulse and Respiration — all four currently available eSense sensors in one package.
Which adapter do I need for my iPhone or Android device?
iPhones from model 7 require a Lightning-to-3.5 mm adapter, iPhones from model 15 a USB-C-to-3.5 mm adapter, current Android devices a USB-C adapter. Adapters are an optional add-on; the eSense Pulse pairs wirelessly via Bluetooth® LE and does not need an adapter.
Can I stream the data from the app to a PC?
Yes — via the eSense Web App at esense.live you can see your client’s measurement curves live in the browser as the trainer. Additionally there is OSC streaming to third-party software (BioEra, Max/MSP, custom apps) and CSV export per session.
What is the difference between the complete set and individual purchase?
The set includes 60 minutes of premium support via video call, 3× premium web dashboard accounts for 12 months, a supervisor account for centralised client data analysis, and a price advantage over buying the four sensors individually.
How does the cloud analysis of sessions work?
Each client receives their own premium account on the web dashboard. As the trainer you have access to all three linked client accounts via the supervisor account, can see real-time streams, compare sessions and export CSV data for documentation.
Do I need technical knowledge to set it up?
No. Plug in sensor, start app, the sensor is detected automatically. 60 minutes of premium support via video call are included for individual onboarding.
Can I upgrade later to the set with SDK?
Yes. The mobile eSense SDK (3945) is available as a standalone product and covers Skin Response, Temperature and Respiration for iOS, Android, Cordova/Capacitor, Flutter, Unity and Unreal Engine. The eSense Pulse is connected via the standard Bluetooth® LE Heart Rate Service — no proprietary library required. There is also a Windows SDK and a macOS SDK. eSense Muscle and EEGenius have a separate SDK in C# for Unity, including the test device.
Is the set suitable for online or remote sessions?
Yes. Via the eSense Web App you can see your clients’ measurement curves in real time as the trainer and run sessions remotely — for example through screen sharing in video conferencing tools or as a pure web dashboard setup.
